Winter Collection

Hello I’m Leela, the artist behind the pottery.
I specialise in warm, earthy and coastal pottery pieces that are a blend of contemporary and rustic. I take inspiration from my Devon surroundings of wild moorland, rolling hills and rugged coastline.
I create my glazes from scratch using carefully measured and tweaked recipes, I experiment with wild clay that I collect in small quantities from the plentiful clay deposits across Devon.
My handmade pottery business is environmentally conscious. I reduce waste during the making process, fire kilns as efficiently as possible, and package pottery without plastic, unless it is being reused.

I took some pots on my dog walk yesterday. The mosses and lichens right now are glowing, they don't look real. This green mug fits in nicely with it's surroundings. Alba is not impressed.

One of a few very special jars. Weeks in the making. Gas fired to cone 10, glazed on the inside and left raw on the outside, allowing the clays to remain earthy and the porcelain to glow white. What do you think?

Another favourite from the gas firing. A platter dusted with ash from my wood stove and fired to cone 10. Where the ash was thick, it melted into green glass. I absolutely love greens next to orange, earthy colours.

Here's a pretty special mug from the recent gas firing. I experimented with ash from my studio wood stove and I love the result. I made a few mugs with out-turned bases, just in case the melted ash ran and luckily it didn't. You can see in the video
