Wheel-thrown mug, glazed in layers of shino and dusted with wood ash. Fired in an anagama wood kiln for five days.
This piece is fired in a large wood kiln, in a reduction atmosphere. A team of six potters worked around the clock, feeding wood into the kiln for five days. The flame paths and fly ash in the kiln create unique surfaces on each pot and highly varied results are achieved.
These cups can be used for tea, coffee, or cold drinks.
