Oval Sunflower Platter - Reduction-fired
Platter with hand cut sunflower stencils. Made using slabs of white clay, and glazed in a translucent white.
This piece is fired in a gas kiln, in a reduction atmosphere. By controlling the amount of oxygen the kiln receives, unique and highly varied results can be achieved, resulting in distinctive colours and textures and speckles.
Perfect as a small serving plate for charcuterie, nibbled bread etc.
The glazes used are made from scratch with raw ingredients that I carefully, weigh, mix and sieve by hand.
Dishwasher and microwave safe. Hand wash recommended.
