Small Inlaid Fish Shoal Cup - Reduction-Fired with Pink Blush
Wheel-thrown small cup, stamped with my hand-carved stamps, Inlaid with porcelain and reduction fired.
This piece is fired in a gas kiln, in a reduction atmosphere. By controlling the amount of oxygen the kiln receives, unique and highly varied results can be achieved, resulting in distinctive colours and textures and speckles.
This particular piece has some pink flashing as a result of an adjacent piece glaze in a copper carbonate glaze. An effect only achieved in a reduction atmosphere.
Perfect for small cups of coffee, tea or cold drinks.
The glazes used are made from scratch with raw ingredients that I carefully, weigh, mix and sieve by hand. Each cup is unique and may vary to those photographed and between batches.
