Medium Dog Silhouette Mug II - Reduction Fired
Medium mug, made in a toasty clay. Finished with a handmade stencil dog in a contrasting iron-rich clay on the front and back. Finally glazed in a translucent glaze and stoneware fired.
This piece is fired in a gas kiln, in a reduction atmosphere. By controlling the amount of oxygen the kiln receives, unique and highly varied results can be achieved, resulting in distinctive colours and textures and speckles.
The hand-pulled handle has been trialed and tweaked over time to be comfortable to hold. Perfect for large cups of tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
