Lidded Jar in Shino - Reduction-fired
This jar is wheel-thrown in a Cornish clay, stamped, glazed in shino and stoneware fire.
This piece is fired in a gas kiln, in a reduction atmosphere. By controlling the amount of oxygen the kiln receives, unique and highly varied results can be achieved, resulting in distinctive colours and textures and speckles.
Perfect for sea salt, spices, tea or coffee on the kitchen table or countertop. Alternatively for precious items on a bedside table.
The glazes used are made from scratch with raw ingredients that I carefully, weigh, mix and sieve by hand.
